unstructured data. The accelerating growth of user generated content,
graphics intensive applications, and increased compliance requirements,
combined with the increasing sizes of most file types is straining
storage infrastructures worldwide. As a result, organizations are
struggling to contain rising storage acquisition costs as well as
operational expenses such as power, cooling and datacenter space.
A new solution is needed to optimize online content and reduce digital
footprint.

and Highland Capital Partners, and is tooled up to pioneer

Job Summary:
The Product Architect will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction for Ocarina's product lines. This Architect will translate high level product requirements into detailed architecture requirements. The Architect will also envision and evangelize novel approaches for solving problems for existing and potential customers. The Architect will always have a firm grasp of the product's potential and a vision and a plan for realizing the potential Ocarina's technology has to offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Champion the technical direction for Ocarina's product lines
- Work with engineers to ensure well designed and implemented code is added to the product
- Help engineers resolve complex issues, whether it be helping with a detailed design or helping debug a difficult problem
- Define the product architecture and also design and own a component of the product architecture
- Work with Product Management to define future features and adaptations of existing features
- Work with engineering management to help define product schedules
- Work with partners to define synergies and combined product opportunities
Qualifications:
- A strong understanding of the most complex concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices
- Strong depth in multiple technical areas such as, virtual file systems, NAS, CAS, local and remote file system implementations, HA, etc.
- Strong programming skills in multiple languages especially C
- Has a passion for creating outstanding products
- Track record of being a key contributor at previous companies
- Worked on multiple products through the full product life cycle from product concept to product release
- Must have early stage start-up experience
- BS in CS, EE or related field, MS preferred
- Minimum 10 years industry experience
